17th May 2011 Notes: Elenin
We have another opportunity of taking our next photo of comet Elenin in about 20 minutes with it’s position calculated to be at RA 10h 28m 51s DEC +8° 00′ 14″.
The Full Moon may effect our chances of seeing the comet today.
Update : We were rather lucky with our picture today of comet Elenin. With the light of the full moon we were expecting that the shot would be washed out, however we are able to see the comet in the picture below…… though not of any great detail. The image below right also includes our zoomed in view of the comet.

HOW CAN YOU PREDICT THE ORBIT OF ELENIN AROUND THE SUN AND NEAR EARTH IF YOU DO NOT KNOW THE MASS OF ELENIN?
So in this picture there is one object with Elenin, is that correct?
No… Elenin is by itself. The other object near Elenin is a background star.
@Thom did they know the mass of comet haly – bopp ?? xD
