2nd May 2011 Notes: Our Next Picture Opportunity of Elenin

Update : Picture Opportunity was cancelled due to hardware issues with the telescope

We will be attempting another picture of Comet Elenin in about 40 minutes at it’s position of 10h 37m 09s +7° 08′ 16″

Elenin currently has a magnitude of  +15.21 so it will still be hard to see. This time next week Elenin will be slightly brighter at a magnitude of +15.03

The image below shows that Elenin will be about 45 degrees above the horizon when we try to take it’s picture.
