10th April 2011 Notes: Taking Pictures of Comet Elenin

When Comet Elenin passes us later this year, it will be a popular target for people with binoculars and telescopes as well as for people whose cameras are able to take long exposures. Due to the estimated brightness of the comet, you will probably not need to have an expensive camera to take a picture of it. If you take a short exposure of Elenin, you will mostly likely see the comet as a fuzzy blob in the night sky. If you have a tracking mount and take long exposures, you will get a better picture of Elenin.
