The Universe Today : The Owl Nebula M97

If you look closely at the picture below and click the picture to enlarge it, you should be able to see in our processed image why this nebula is called the Owl Nebula.

After we added more color to this nebula to bring out more detail, we can clearly see the eyes and a beak of an owl looking at us from 2600 light years away.
