Tarantula Nebula

The picture below was taken yesterday of the Tarantula Nebula, also known as NGC 2070.

The Tarantula Nebula is a large region of gas which surrounds a group of newly forming stars. This nebula is around 100 times the size of the Orion Nebula and can be found in the Large Magellanic Cloud with a magnitude of 8.

Atmospheric conditions at the time of the picture being taken were a little average but the nebula still looks impressive.
