Bow Tie Nebula : Sep 1st 2010

The pictures below were taken of the Bow Tie Nebula this morning.  A wide shot view of the sky is seen on the left with a closeup of the Nebula seen on the right.

The Bow Tie Nebula is a planetary nebula  also known as NGC 40 and is pretty much made up of hot gas surrounding a dying star. Eventually the nebula will fade away completely and will become a white dwarf star roughly the same size as Earth.

This Nebula is not visible from Sydney.
