Our Hunt for New Supernova – 14th August 2010

Sometimes you get a very easy picture to check and determine the answer up front.

If you look at the picture below, you will see that neither of the images have the object centred in the cross hairs. This pretty much rules out this object being a supernova. You can also see that even if the object has being centred, there is no movement and the object in the right hand image is easily explained as a variance of magnitude in the bright star.
