Space Shuttle – Last view Tonight

The Space Shuttle Discovery has been on it’s current mission for 13 days but was only visible from Sydney for the first time last night.

Where to see Discovery tonight (Click to Enlarge)

The Discovery is in preperation for landing at kennedy Space Centre in 24 hours time……. 10:48 am Sydney time Tuesday morning. This means that tonight will be our second and final opportunity to see space shuttle Discovery  before it lands.

If you look at the picture above you will see where the shuttle will be visible at 6:47pm tonight. At the moment cloud conditions are still looking clear so with luck we will get to see Discovery tonight.

Discovery will appear over the horizon in the South West at 6:43 pm tonight and will reach it’s highest position of 26.6 degrees above the horizon at 6:47pm as shown in the picture above. Discovery will then set in the East at  6:52pm. This should hopefully give us 5 minutes of watching the shuttle fly over to the south of Sydney.

Don’t forget to watch the shuttle land at 10:48 tomorrow our time at the following site:
