The Sydney Asteroid Watch section of our site has been updated with the details of asteroid 2010 BG5 which is a rare visitor to Earth and will soon not pass us again for another 50 years.

This asteroid, 90 metres in size, passed by Earth on the 1st of February.

Read about it here at http://sydneyasteroidwatch.wordpress.com/

We also look at a large fireball which was spotted last night travelling across most of Ireland. Apparently meteors are a rare event for Ireland so this was a unique sighting for the thousands of people who saw the fireball.
