Last Chance to See Hubble This week

It may be a while before the Hubble telescope passes over Sydney again at this time of night and today is possibly the last day you will see it clearly for a while.

The moon is starting to get brighter and the orbit of the Hubble is taking it lower to the horizon each day. The telescope is also becoming fainter and tonight has a magnitude of +3.9

The Hubble will make it’s appearance in the west in a few hours time. Refer to the picture above to see where the Hubble telescope is at 8:55pm tonight.

For those of you who look for the flares of the Iridium satellites, there are none visible tonight and the next one is due on Saturday night at just after 9pm. We will post more on that if the clouds disappear on Saturday night to allow us to see the flare.
