Processed Images Gallery Added to Site

I have added a new gallery to the menu on the right. Called Processed Images Gallery, this is where I am adding the resulting images after processing the raw images taken by telescopes such as the Hubble telescope.

The raw images are now being made freely available on the Internet for astronomers, including amateur astronomers, to use, as well as for teachers and students to use for educational purposes.

In the Processed Images Gallery, I am including two images for each object I process. The image on the left in the gallery is the resulting image processed in Photoshop while the image on the right is one of the 4 or 5 images I used to create the result. The raw images are all in black and white but each image is taken using a different filter …. for example the picture showing red light was taken though a red filter but the picture shows the light in black and white.

This raw image allows us to then process the image and come up with an “artistic” result of what the object looks like in full color.
