An Interesting Thought about Ganymede

Following on from my earlier post about Ganymede, and with Ganymede being the largest moon in our solar system…… it would be feasable to say that if Ganymede orbited the Sun instead of Jupiter, it would most likely have been classified as a planet…not as a moon.

While I am talking about Ganymede, have a look at the interesting crater seen on the surface of Ganymede. This is thought to have been caused by debris from a comet breaing up similar to the Shoemaker-Levy 9 comet which slammed into jupiter back in 1994 with multiple impacts.
